S&P Global Launches Hybrid Crypto-Equities Benchmark Index

S&P Global unveiled the S&P Digital Markets 50 Index, a first-of-its-kind benchmark blending 15 cryptocurrencies with 35 crypto-linked equities. The index, developed with tokenization platform Dinari, aims to provide institutional investors with a unified gauge of digital asset market performance.

The equity component targets companies engaged in blockchain infrastructure, financial services, and digital asset operations, while the crypto portion leverages S&P's existing Broad Digital Market methodology. Constituents face 5% weighting caps and minimum market capitalization requirements—$100 million for equities and $300 million for cryptocurrencies.

Dinari will issue a tokenized version of the index on its dShares platform, marking another step in the convergence of traditional finance and digital assets. The launch reflects growing institutional demand for regulated crypto exposure vehicles as markets mature.
